MZ ToBeat ("MZ ToBeat," "we," "us," or "our") is a music streaming application developed and published by Castel Code Ltd, a software company based in Lusaka, Zambia. MZ ToBeat lets you stream songs, create playlists, follow artists, and discover new music. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through the MZ ToBeat app.
By creating an account or using MZ ToBeat, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
02 Information We Collect
- Account information — name, email address, date of birth, and password, or details from a linked social/Google sign-in;
- Listening data — songs, artists, albums, and playlists you play, save, like, or skip;
- Playlist & library content — playlists you create, follow, or share;
- Subscription & payment information — plan type and billing details, processed through secure third-party payment providers;
- Device & technical data — device model, operating system, app version, and IP address;
- Approximate location — derived from IP address, used to provide regionally licensed content and local charts;
- Voice input (optional) — if you use voice search, audio is processed to interpret your request and is not stored longer than necessary for that purpose.
03 How We Use Your Information
- Stream music and maintain your library, playlists, and listening history;
- Personalize recommendations, curated playlists, and "for you" mixes;
- Process subscription payments and manage your billing cycle;
- Ensure content is served in compliance with regional music licensing agreements;
- Display advertising in the free, ad-supported tier;
- Improve app performance, audio quality, and customer support.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
04 Listening Activity & Personalization
MZ ToBeat analyzes your listening activity — such as genres, artists, and time of day you listen — to generate personalized recommendations, auto-generated playlists, and year-in-review style summaries. This processing happens on our servers and through on-device analysis, and is used solely to improve your experience within the app.
05 Subscriptions & Payments
MZ ToBeat offers a free, ad-supported tier and a paid Pro subscription. Payment information for Pro subscriptions is processed by secure third-party payment providers (such as Flutterwave and mobile money operators); MZ ToBeat does not store full card numbers on its own servers.
07 Music Licensing & Rights Holders
To legally distribute music, MZ ToBeat shares aggregated, non-identifying play-count data with music labels, distributors, and rights holders for royalty reporting and licensing compliance. This does not include your personal account details unless required by a specific licensing agreement and permitted by law.

10 Data Storage & Security

11 Data Retention
We retain account, listening history, and playlist data for as long as your account remains active, so that your library and recommendations remain intact. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for royalty reporting or legal obligations.
12 Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and may reset your personalization data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16.
13 Children's Privacy
MZ ToBeat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Accounts found to belong to underage users may be suspended or removed.
14 International Data Transfers
Because MZ ToBeat uses cloud service providers such as Firebase and Google Cloud, and works with international music licensing partners, information may be processed or stored on servers located outside Zambia. Where this occurs, we rely on the security and compliance safeguards provided by these established platforms.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, licensing agreements, or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
