Castel Code ("Castel Code," "the Company," "we," "us," or "our") is a registered software company based in Lusaka, Zambia. We build mobile apps, web platforms, AI/ML solutions, robotics and automation systems, and provide technology consulting. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through our website at castelcode.tech, through apps we develop and publish, and in the course of client engagements.
By using our website, downloading an app we've published, or engaging our Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
02 Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details you provide, such as name, email address, and phone number, when you request a quote or consultation;
- Project information shared with us for the purpose of building or advising on your software;
- Payment information such as billing details, handled via our payment processors (we do not store full card numbers);

- App usage data collected by the individual apps we publish, as described in each app's own in-app privacy notice (see Section 4 below).

04 Data Collected by Our Apps
Castel Code develops and publishes standalone mobile applications (for example, apps using location, camera, or maps features). Each app collects only the data needed for its specific function, which may include:

Where an individual app has its own published privacy policy (as required for Google Play Store listings), that app-specific policy governs data handling for that app and takes precedence over this general Policy for matters specific to that product.

We process personal information on the basis of: your consent (e.g. when you submit a contact form), the necessity of processing to perform a contract with you (e.g. delivering a project you've engaged us for), and our legitimate business interests (e.g. improving our Services), balanced against your rights.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss, including secured cloud infrastructure, restricted internal access, and industry-standard authentication practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09 Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, meet legal or contractual obligations, or resolve disputes. Project-related data is generally retained for the duration of the engagement plus a reasonable period afterward for support and record-keeping, unless you request earlier deletion where applicable.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14.
11 Children's Privacy
Our website and Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where an individual app is intended for a general or younger audience, that app's specific Play Store listing and privacy policy will describe any additional protections in place.
12 International Data Transfers
Because we use cloud service providers such as Firebase and Google Cloud, information may be processed or stored on servers located outside Zambia. Where this occurs, we rely on the security and compliance safeguards provided by these established platforms.
